Meeting the Growing Demand for Food Support

The Okotoks Food Bank has experienced a significant rise in demand over the past few years.

In 2024, we provided 1,570 food hampers to individual households through our Main Food Hamper Program, supplying 7–10 days’ worth of food to 5,176 individuals—60% adults and 40% children.

In addition to hampers, our Help Yourself Shelf Program saw 21,449 household visits, marking a 6.8% increase from 2023. During the Christmas season, we distributed 243 Christmas hampers to ensure families had meals and treats for the holidays.

How You Can Help

We rely on community support to meet this growing need.

  • Food Donations: Non-perishable items can be dropped off at donation bins located at Sobeys, Safeway, Freshco and Save-On-Foods, as well as at Okotoks Recreation Centre (in front of Natural High Fitness), Okotoks Eco Centre, and Pason Centennial Arena.
  • Large Donations & Food Drives: For bulk food donations, please schedule a drop-off by calling 403-651-6629. You can also register your Food Drive on our website and request our Donation Barrels for your workplace or business.
