Adopt-a-Family, sponsor a 2020 Christmas Food Hamper

Instructions

Please read all the way to the bottom of this page.

Hamper sponsors have the option to purchase the listed non-perishable items themselves and drop them of on either December 19 or 20 between 3 and 7pm, at the Evangelical Free Church, 28 Westland Road, Okotoks. (That is across from the Tim Hortons & Wendy’s location in behind the Lakeview Inn Hotel). If you choose this option, you have the option of paying the perishable fee online at Canada Helps (link can be found at the bottom of this page. If you prefer not to use this option, please contact the Food Bank at director@okotoksfoodbank.ca or 403-651-6629 to sign up for a family, indicating the size of family you will be sponsoring, and if you will be including a cheque, grocery gift cards or cash to cover the cost of the perishable items when you deliver your hamper items on Dec 19 or 20.

Hamper sponsors who prefer to purchase a complete hamper, can elect for us to shop for all of the food items. If this is your preference, you have the option of paying the fee online at Canada Helps (link can be found at the bottom of this page. If you prefer not to use this option, please contact the Food Bank at director@okotoksfoodbank.ca or 403-651-6629 to sign up for a family, indicating the size of family you will be sponsoring, and your preferred method of payment (i.e. mail a cheque to the Food Bank or in person delivery of cheque, cash or grocery gift cards).

Sponsors do NOT purchase any of the perishable items. Perishable items are taken care of by the Okotoks Food Bank on the day of the hamper distribution to ensure the freshness of the items.

The Okotoks Food Bank also arranges for roasting pans and cranberry sauce for all hampers, plus all of the perishable items including: turkey or ham, milk, butter, cheese, mixed vegetables, potatoes, whole wheat bread, buns, pie(s), eggs and oranges.

Sponsors can adopt a single person up to a 7+ person household, and of course, you are welcome to adopt as many families as you wish!  Last year the Okotoks Food Bank distributed 243 hampers to families in need of extra help during the Christmas season.
